Why centering matters for PSA grading
PSA evaluates every card across four factors: centering, corners, edges, and surface. Centering is judged by comparing the left/right and top/bottom borders — the more even the borders, the higher the centering can score. A card with great corners and surface can still miss a top grade if the centering is off, which is why checking centering before you submit can help you decide which cards are worth sending in.
