Centering and the PSA 10 grade
Centering is one of the most common reasons a card that looks flawless in hand still misses PSA's Gem Mint 10 grade. Corners and surface can be perfect, but if the borders are visibly uneven on either axis, the overall grade gets capped below a 10. Measuring your centering before you submit won't guarantee a grade, but it will tell you whether centering is likely to be the limiting factor.
